Nothing raises my hackles more than the widely-held opinion that we are, as a civilization, somehow doomed due to the rapid acceptance and integration of technology into our daily lives. This opinion of our impending demise is typified by the idea that the very fabric of our societies is being ripped apart as we use gadgets, online services and other technologies to facilitate communication.
The goal of this blog is to explore language, technology, and learning in an effort to show those who think we are somehow doomed: we’re not.*
*At least where language, technology and learning are concerned. Where nuclear war, environmental disasters, asteroids, and alien invasions are concerned you’re on your own.
